Toto, I don't think we're in Florida anymore!

Surprise, the flight was looong - but we made it and after a rainy day in Amsterdam we eventually picked up the Peugeot in Nice.




The drive along the Italian Riviera was lovely - very sunny, very pretty, uh, ... very Italian. Here's Jim looking Italian.

We spent the night in Cortona in Tuscany (Under The Tuscan Sun country, as most of you know). We got our first taste of hill town walking there. My calves are mooing for relief.




Anyway, we are in our apartment now, and it's much cozier than we expected - we even get Fox News and CNN. Some things are easier to operate than others.


Our first attempt at using the clothes washer was an unexpected adventure when the load took THREE HOURS to finish. We have since been successful at this household chore but we'll never have clothes as clean as that first load.
