Preziose Piccole Cose (Precious Little Things)

"In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns."

  Angelo Infanti as Fabrizio
  "The Godfather"

When I'm putting together a post it's sometimes difficult to categorize every photo. That shouldn't exclude those photos from being shared with you. Even the above quote deserved a read, though Fabrizio had somewhat older females in mind. Check out these (photos of photos on the streets of Sicily) two precious little ones in about twelve years and I'm sure you'll agree with him.

Some things remain in our memory. Here, in Italy, they will remain in bronze and marble a little longer.

The heartbreak of pink when you'd wished for black leather and chains. We feel your pain...but you're still damn cute.

Rockefeller Center, anyone?

A moment at the Greek Amphitheater in Taormina

- it's present form dates back to the 2nd century. A true place for reflection. Right, noble dog?

Kosher moments.

Temple of Apollo - a real fixer-upper. Location, location, location - right in the heart of Ortigia and a few blocks from our place.
Built in the 6th century B.C., plumbing needs major work, as does the roof. Make them an offer they can't refuse - after all, this is Sicily.

I HAVE NO IDEA!

Meanwhile, down by the Duomo, someone is breaking in her performance art.

I think I'll call her Stoned Princess.

Tucked away in a very pretty park here are a few carnival rides for tiny tots.

No matter what language they are not yet speaking, this is guaranteed to bring a smile to any child you show it to.

Jim and laundry - goes together like Jack Daniels and diet coke (that's for you, Kim D.)

And for all you paisans in Old Forge, Pennsylvania, please note the t-shirt he is hanging.

Moment of truth: In all of Italy I still haven't found pizza equal to the pizza in my home town. Please alert Arcaro & Genell and Revello's - We will be arriving in early February!

Susan,

who is having a precious moment thinking of all of you.

  2. June & I sat in almost the same seats of the Greek theater later to be Roman looking out on Mt Etna after a wonderful lunch similar to your meals below. These are great memories to take with you and share with us. We have yet to get to Syracusa and love the market place captured by your words and pictures. Thanks
